“Pat Holton has been painting for most of his adult life. A native of Jordanstown, Enfield, County Meath, Pat started his artistic career as a sign writer, designer & calligrapher. He has worked with 2 & 3d lettering using both paint and the delicate art of gold gilding. His introduction to painting was under the tuition of the late George Collie R.H.A. whose direct lineage continues in the colourful and exuberant works of Pat to this day. Pat’s painting of the Irish landscape shows great skill and sensitivity. His colour palette although muted and naturalistic at fist glance, contains flashes of vivid brilliance, along with loose brushstrokes.Pat’s paintings are in many private collections around the world in such places as Dubai, Italy, Australia and America to name but a few. His recent exhibitions include 9 solo shows in Enfield, Co. Meath, Trim Visitors Centre, Bru-Na-Boinne, Co. Meath, Kileen Castle, Co. Meath and Ardgillan Castle, Co. Dublin which was greeted with much acclaim. Pat is presently a Member of the Artist Association of Ireland and the National Plein Eire Boyne Valley Art Group.” In 2013 Pat was appointed a Peace Commissioner by The Minister for Justice. — Pat Holton (Pictured with Joe Duffy Irish Radio presenter) Selection of Photos View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize
